I may risk riling things up by engaging my Feminist Autobot to initiate battle, but I'm not really down with pretending like everyone is a man by saying we are brothers and uncles when some of us are women.

What is the explanation for this again? I feel like people have told me in the past, and it has never made sense, and I have been a good Shaolin sister and have accepted it.

If anyone cares to engage in this dialog, I'd be much obliged.

And in the meantime, here's what I say:

More SHE! Train Harder!!

  1. i would be nothing without my shaolin sisters.

  2. OMG!!! I love the female autobots!! They were totally HOT!!! I was in LOVE!!! Will you marry me Elita One?

I agree! More SHE! Train Harder!

  3. Having gone to a women's college and heard every feminist perspective known to man (or woman :P ) I can still say the brother/uncle thing does not bother me. You can talk to Sifu to get more detail, but basically the point is that we are all the same. Calling us all brothers is not trying to de-feminize us, but to show that in spirit and in our Shaolin practice we are all on the same path. Instead of 250 rules for monks 500 for nuns, we all follow the same path because Buddhism is about more than this life alone etc etc etc. We could all be sisters and aunts instead, but that DOES sound like a crazy 70s feminist action group.

  4. The magenta one is the leader of the female Autobots. And also girlfriend/wife of the Autobot Leader Optimus Prime. Her original name was Ariel, but was changed when she was killed by Megatron and rebuilt by Alpha Trion. His boyfriend at the time, Orion Pax was also killed and was rebuilt to become Optimus Prime.

Their names from left to right are:

Firestar, Chromia, Elita One, Moonracer, and Arcee

Oh...and thank you for the explanation Cheng. :)

  5. ahaha...thank you for that thorough explanation of the transformers origin, leo!

  6. can't wait until we are grandmas

  7. i used to have a crush on the pink power ranger...
