Anything from massage to qinna makes you more aware of EVERYTHING on someone else (keep it clean)...1 thing that I've learned from some recent Shiatsu/nervous system studies is you REALLY DO become more aware of the body. Think about WingChun(sticky hands)/Taiji(push hands), just to name a few. These drills are specifically designed to enable you to "feel" the other person (tension, direction of force, etc, etc) before they feel themselves.
